Jef Aerosol is a killer stencil artist in France and amazing folk/celtic musician (multi-instrumentalist) & singer - he's a dual threat.
Anyone who adores rock icons a la Warhol (but better) popping up all over the streets of Paris, London and Chicago must check his work out!!!
A band I am just loving - their new CD is fab and the lead singer has vocals that just make you want to get your heart broken (or drink if it already is and swoon on a fainting couch).
Chris was one of my main influences/inspirations & sadly, died of lung cancer in November 2005. My song "St. Christopher" on my CD Emergency Love is about & for him. Rest in Peace, Chris.
Amy is one of the best musicians/composers/planetary forces around (she's a member of The Tiptons - one of my fave bands). And, I'm so lucky to have her singing, playing accordian & sax on my new CD Flirting. You must check her out, if you don't know her work.
Tobi was nominated by Earshot Jazz as best new artist in 2005 and man is she one Seattle's hottest players, plus damn fine & nice, to boot. Plus, she graces both my CD's Emergency Love & Flirting with her great playing - she & Amy Denio on Baltimore Oriole are killer.
Her current projects include: The Tiptons Sax Quartet, Melodia Jazz duo, Seattle Women's Jazz Orchestra, and Reptet.
Jeff is one of the consumate drummer/percussionists in Seattle. He plays on 3 of my tracks on Flirting and was a great creative force to work with. Groups he plays with: Jovino Santos Neto quinteto; Cuban jazz groups Rumba Abierta, and Tumbao led by pianist Julio Jauregui; and Cuban dance band Mango Son, led by Roberto Sanchez
If you want to return to the era of sophistication, romance & Martinis, go hear him at Salty's every Friday night at Alki. And, buy his truly luscious CD Cosmo Street (I sing a duet with him, "Guadalupe" - available on CD Baby) it was reviewed most positively in JazzImprov Magazine. It was Victor who suggested I start singing Hoagy's "Skylark" and inspired me to compose my own arrangement for the CD Flirting.
Paul Rucker is one of the most talented and compelling composers and musicians I know. He is also an innovative and magical artist. To see all his great works def. check his website. And, buy his CD's!!!
Amy Denio, Tobi Stone & Elizabeth Pupo-Walker are dynamite musicians I've worked with on stage in in the studio. They are all part of one of my favorite bands, The Tiptons - touring Europe and the US, don't miss them if they grace your town and def. buy their CD's!!
Mark Clem is the great Houdini behind the headphones working his HD Pro-Tools magic for my 2 CD's Emergency love & Flirting... ~ go to Mark for a great recording experience and a great sounding project.
He is also a kick-ass dj & remix-master - he remixed my song SkinDiving into a great dance-club tune.
